How to obtain your Legal Description from Lake County

To obtain your legal description online click here. (Requires you to create an account) – You will be directed to the Lake County Recorder of Deeds website search tool. 

See instructions below on how to manually obtain the document:

1. Call the Map Department (847-377-2373). Give them you address or PIN and ask for the document number for a legal description.
2. Then call the Lake County Recorder of Deeds (847-377-2678). Give them the document number and they will provide you with the legal description for your property. You can pay over the phone via credit card and they can fax it over to you.
